This July release focuses on one specific part of practice: everything that surrounds a session, before, during and after.
A practice is not just a clinical note. There is the appointment, the consultation mode, the audio, the handwriting, the documents, the diagrams, the record being updated, reminders, background processing, and sometimes the need to step back from a family or relational dynamic. This is the thread we strengthened.
Genograms become more usable in session
Genograms can now be prepared or recalculated in the background. You can keep working in Theramate while the generation runs, then come back when it is ready.
The view itself gains more useful landmarks: zoom, fit-to-view, patient centering, a clinical legend and filters by relational dynamic. The goal is not to make a diagram look clever for its own sake. The goal is to make it usable during a session or while preparing one.
The intervision assistant can also start from a selected person or relationship in the genogram. It does not answer in the abstract. It works from a precise part of the patient record, with a more focused clinical context.
Handwritten notes move beyond the consultation
On tablet, New note can now receive a handwritten note with a stylus, even outside a consultation.
That is deliberate. Many practitioners do not only think during the session. You annotate between appointments, sketch a hypothesis, keep a formulation idea, or capture something after a call. The keyboard is not always the right tool.
The note appears immediately in the patient record. The handwriting is preserved, and Theramate prepares the transcription in the background. If recognition fails, you can restart processing from the note menu.
For a psychologist or therapist working on iPad with Apple Pencil, this changes the role of the tablet: it is no longer just another input device. It becomes a natural entry point into the digital patient record.
Video consultations are better connected to scheduling
Video consultation is now a real working-hours mode. You no longer need to create a fake remote office just to say that a slot happens online.
The video mode also travels more cleanly through online booking and confirmation emails. Patients better understand what is being offered, and video links can follow the appointment.
The patient-side flow was clarified as well: waiting, camera preview, connection and call ending. Video remains in beta, but the full flow is more coherent.
For a practice, this is not just a video feature. It is a scheduling feature: availability, booking, confirmation, session and patient record stay connected.
Session finalization keeps getting stronger
Closing a consultation is more robust, especially when there is audio, handwriting or source material to correct.
Theramate resumes longer-running processing more cleanly: transcription, handwriting recognition, analysis and consultation sources. A session should not become fragile just because it contains several kinds of material.
We also added a session Alarm with configurable duration and sound. It is not flashy. It is very practical: a quiet marker before the end of a session, without breaking the frame.
Subscription status is clearer
Your profile now includes a Subscription tab.
Depending on your situation, it shows your plan, monthly usage, management portal access or Early Adopter status. For Early Adopter accounts explicitly invited by the Theramate team, conversion to a paid plan can happen from that tab, while keeping existing data and resetting counters.
This is not a clinical breakthrough. It is practice management housekeeping done properly, which still matters when the tool becomes part of daily work.
Documents and diagrams are more reliable
Diagrams embedded in notes and PDF exports have been consolidated. Reading, rendering and export are more reliable, especially for structured clinical content.
This is quiet work, but important for patient records. A clinical document must remain readable when it leaves the screen. A note, diagram or report may need to be transmitted, archived or reused cleanly.
What July says about Theramate
Taken one by one, these changes may look small: a clearer genogram, better handwriting, tighter video scheduling, stronger finalization.
Taken together, they say something bigger: Theramate is becoming a complete working base for therapy practice management. The AI scribe, transcription, Pencil, scheduling, documents, intervision and patient record do not live in separate corners.
That is the difference with a standalone transcription tool, a standalone calendar or an isolated AI assistant. A captured session should join the record. A document should be handed over professionally. A handwritten note should remain available. An appointment should keep its context. And the practitioner should stay in control.
